Our major community partnerships

We are joint sponsors with Powerlink on the Queensland State Emergency Service (SES) Equipment Program.

The SES consists of unpaid volunteers who are trained and equipped to help their communities during times of emergency and disaster. Our sponsorship is about assisting our local SES groups with obtaining new equipment to be used by their volunteers, both replacing old equipment and addressing their needs as technology advances.

With personnel from the electricity industry often working side-by-side with SES volunteers, together we’re keeping our customers safe and finding smarter ways of doing things for our communities.

The Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), made up of 36,000 volunteers, is one of the state's key brigade services. Providing fire assistance to more than 90% of Queensland, the Service has a wide range of responsibilities – from firefighting, fire prevention and permits to light fires to community education and assistance during natural disasters.

With our support, the RFSQ has been able to develop and implement electricity network construction standards and the inspection and maintenance of electricity assets in high bushfire risk areas. These initiatives help to minimise the risk of fire on our network to ensure its 'fire-safe'.

Our partnership program aims to provide selected RFSQ brigades across Queensland with equipment to assist with the operational capacity of brigades, and protect volunteers in electrical safety.

Our continued work with the RFSQ allows us to build on our shared visions of providing community safety and electricity reliability.

As the state's leading professional arts company, the Queensland Theatre strives to develop new artists, new stories, celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and foster education and youth participation through touring across Queensland.

Our association with Queensland Theatre supports the telling of powerful and unique Queensland stories that reflect and celebrate the diverse and inclusive community in which we operate.

Building an internationally recognised dance company requires attracting and developing the next generation of talent.
We offer gifted young dancers the opportunity to join the Queensland Ballet Pre-Professional Program, which works to bridge the gap between their training and the profession.

Students are immersed into the life of a professional ballet company and have unrivalled opportunities to perform in world-class ballets and work with international artists and coaches.

We help to make this Program available to young, talented dancers, irrespective of their socio-economic background. By investing in these young artists, Queensland Ballet is able to secure the future of dance excellence in Australia

We also support the Regional School and Community Workshops.

We have a strong relationship with local government and are active in sponsoring events held by the Local Government Association of Queensland.

This allows us to share experiences and collaborate with those leading, and working in, local councils. It helps us to be prepared to deal with the challenges and lead our communities into the future. It's about thinking forward together with thought provoking information, best-practice updates and innovative solutions.

EcoMarines Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that provides environmental education programs to schools and learning centers across Queensland. Their mission is to inspire young learners and their communities through education and positive action to conserve freshwater, marine, and terrestrial ecosystems and the wildlife that inhabit them.

They collaborate with corporate partners like Ergon Network and Energex to support the participation of schools. Additionally, they’re expanding their program to include energy efficiency modules, making it even more comprehensive.

EcoMarines aims to create a community of sustainability leaders by developing environmental leadership and conservation skills among students, schools, and various community organisations.
