    Cost Allocation Method

    One of the tasks the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has in regulating network charges is approving our cost allocation method.

    The National Electricity Rules (NER) specify that we must allocate costs in accordance with our approved cost allocation method. We must prescribe how we will allocate our costs between the different services that we provide, for the purposes of regulation.

    Our Cost Allocation Method (PDF 983.2 kb) 2020-25 was approved by the AER in November 2018, as part of preparations for the five-year regulatory control period from July 2020 and applies from 1 July 2020.
