Submit a self-meter read
If we left a card at your property to advise we couldn't gain safe and clear access to your meter, we'll automatically generate an estimated read for your electricity retailer. You can submit a self-meter read via our Customer Self Service portal.
Meter access
To provide safe and clear access to your premises, you ensure:
- dogs are suitably restrained (see below) or away from the meter
- if you use a lock, that it's authorised by us to secure your gate or other property access point
- that the meter is clear of vegetation, insects, vehicles and other equipment
- that your meter box is moved if it becomes inaccessible because of new fences or building changes
To update your meter access information, please contact your electricity retailer and provide current access details.
Scheduled meter read date
Because weather conditions, illness and other unforeseen circumstances can impact the meter reading schedule, there is a 5 day window during which your read may occur. Your next scheduled read date is forecast and is usually shown on your bill.
