Are you ready to get your energy budget in check?
Our budget alerts are here to help.
They'll ping you when you're close to hitting your set electricity budget, keeping you updated on your energy usage and spending charges.
You can even send these alerts to multiple mobile numbers or email addresses.
It's all about keeping you informed.
To set up these handy alerts, you'll firstly need a Smart Meter installed in your switchboard.
Not sure if you have one?
Easy, just log on to My Account and check for the Smart Meter feature options.
If it's there, you have a smart meter.
Click on Smart Meter Features on your dashboard, find the Alerts tab on the left hand column and budget away.
After you set your budget amounts, tell us where you want your alerts sent and you're all set.
We've got three alerts tailored just for you.
Number one, Budget Limit.
Get notified when you're nearing your budget limit. Number two, Budget Update.
Receive a mid-month check to see how you're tracking against your budget. And number three, Energy Use.
Set alerts for percentage increases in your energy you use to stay in control.
Easy peasy, right?

Set up solar export alerts in My Account

Hi, I’m Jodie from Rockhampton, and I’m an Energy Specialist at Ergon Energy Retail!
So, you’ve got solar installed – what a fantastic choice! It feels great to be part of the energy transition, doesn’t it?
We’ve put together a super helpful online tool in My Account so you can easily track how your solar exports are performing. Plus, we’ve got solar export alerts to keep you informed every step of the way!
If your solar system hasn’t exported to the grid within a certain timeframe, you’ll get a notification. And guess what? You can even send these alerts to multiple mobile numbers or emails.
First things first, you’ll need a smart meter installed in your switchboard. Not sure if you have one? No problem! Just log in to My Account and check for the 'Smart Meter Features' button. If you see it, you have a smart meter! From there, just click “Smart Meter Features” on your dashboard, go to the “Alerts” tab, and select “solar export”. From here, you can choose how many days without export you want to be notified about, which premises it relates to, and whether you’d like alerts via email or SMS.
Plus, with Smart Meter Features, you can track your exact solar export amounts on regular basis! Head over to the usage tab, hover over the energy graph, and see your solar exports by the hour, day, month, or quarter. You can even export the data into a spreadsheet.

Registration tips
Follow our two-step guide below to breeze through the registration process.
Step 1: Verify your details
- Visit My Account and click "register here"
- Enter your Ergon Energy Retail account number (you can find this in the Account Details section on the front of your bill). The account number will start with an A- and then have a mixture of uppercase letters and numbers e.g. A-123A1234. Ensure you have no spaces before, within or after the account number
- Confirm if your account is in your name or a business name
- Enter your first and last name (as shown on your bill)
- Enter your email address
- Enter your date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy).
Step 2: Verify your email and set a password
- Verify your email with multi-factor authentication – confirm the code we emailed you from msonlineservicesteam@microsoftonline.com
- Set your password (minimum of 8 characters, include one: lowercase letter, uppercase letter, number, and special character).
- Once verified, you’ll be able to access your My Account dashboard!

Here's some tips to troubleshoot common login issues:
- Unmask your email - Check that your email address isn't masked. Sometimes, using the autofill function on your browser may obscure your email details. For example, if you see something like e******@live.com.au, make sure to enter it in full.
- Account not found error - If you’re encountering a ‘We can’t seem to find your account. Register instead?' error message, double check that the email address entered is complete. If the issue persists, click the 'Register here' link located under the Login button.
- Check your password - Click the eyeball icon on the password field to see what you’ve entered and check it's correct. If you’re still having trouble, you can reset your password using the “Forgot your password?” link. Once your password is reset you’ll be transferred directly to your My Account dashboard.
