Request a refund
You can request a refund if your account is in credit.
Please note: The QLD Government Cost of Living Rebate Payment is for the sole purpose of assisting you with your electricity charges and is not available for a refund unless:
- You are finalising your account and will no longer hold any active account with Ergon Energy Retail and your account is in credit
- You have solar and are regularly in credit. In this case you are eligible for a full refund, inclusive of the rebates. This is included as part of your annual solar refund
- You have an active Direct Debit that results in your bills being regularly in credit.
Solar credits on your account will be automatically refunded by cheque every 12 months, but you can request a credit refund at any time.
Request a refund online
You can request a refund quickly and easily online via My Account. Simply go to the ‘Billing & Payments’ page in My Account and if you’re eligible for an online refund, you’ll see a button saying ‘request a refund’.
When we'll need to speak with you
In some cases we’ll need to speak with you on the phone to assist with your refund. Please call us on 13 10 46 if:
- you have an active account that's under $50 in credit (if you have a closed account you can still request a refund via My Account)
- you have SmoothPay on your account
- you’re an authorised representative on the account.
